We are building community resilience by sharing intergenerational skills that will enable us to tackle both food and fuel poverty, in a manner that makes our community members self-sufficient rather than state and charity dependent. We most definitely foster an entrepreneurial culture that will generate a sustainable income. Promote our own brand - and identify opportunities for further growth and expansion. Our approach is one of inclusivity that builds on our community well-being ethos. We have researched our local growth markets in tourism and leisure and identified opportunities through those avenues that will maximise the time the many visitors we receive stay in the village and contribute to our economy. The expertise within our village is astonishing.
The combined horticultural, environmental, land management and sustainable living knowledge of of our members has enabled us to establish an accredited training school. As a delivery partner of Cynon Valley Organic Adventures and Active Learning Wales we can deliver practical & refreshing food and craft-based workshops to improve the well-being standards of our members.
Through our networking event at Project Skyline
Afon-Gwreiddiau / River Roots has attracted a wider panel of experts able to work with us in the community to introduce well resourced litter picks, community wood working activities, Future Homes renewable workshops and an understanding of off grid power that enables young people in particular to use their imagination to design their own renewable solutions.
